Baitshepi Tebogo, was born on the 27th July 1970 in a small village of Shorobe, about 28 km east of Maun. He grew up herding cattle like most small boys in Botswana, at the time. At the age of 8 he was enrolled into Shorobe Primary School for the standard 1 class. He completed his primary school leaving examinations in 1984, and proceeded to Maun Secondary School for his secondary education. In 1987, Baitshepi wrote and passed his junior Certicate Examinations first class and proceeded to the O'level stage, still at Maun secondary School. In 1989, he completed his O'level studies, passing  with first class, and then went for national service in the Kweneng District where he was attached to the Remote Area Development Programme in 1990.

In 1991, Baitshepi began his tertiary education by enrolling for a 6 months Pre-Entry Science Course at the University of Botswana. Upon completing the programme he proceeded to the Botswana College of Agriculture and read for the Diploma in Animal Health and Production. He completed and graduated from the programme in 1993.

However, by this time Baitshepi had begun to develop an interest in accounting studies-especially after taking a course in Farm Records and Accounts at the college of Agriculture. With this new found passion, it happened, therefore, that in 1993 he enrolled for a Bachelor of Commerce degree with the university of Botswana. Four years later, in May 1997, he completed the BCOM degree and graduated the same year in November.

Immediately upon completing the BCOM degree he got a job with the Teaching Service Management, and was posted to Maun Senior Secondary School to teach Commerce. However, a year later in 1998, he moved to the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (Botswana) as an Internal Auditor. Whist at finance, he began to study towards the CIMA qualification; which he completed in May 2001.

In January 2002, Baitshepi joined the Botswana Meat Commission as a Senior Accountant. And, some of his notable contributions to the BMC were in the areas of forecasting, budgeting and treasury management. He also developed system requirements for the 'gas system' that was eventually used to sell LPG gas to BMC employees. Notably, he held several portfolios in his position as a Senior Accountant. First, in the Purchasing and Supplies Department, then in the mainstream Finance Department. In addition to this, he was responsible for preparing management accounts for the BMC subsidiary, Mainline Carriers (Pty) Ltd. He served as a Senior Accountant until he resigned to join the Botswana Accountancy College in April 2004, as a lecturer.

In 2006, Baitshepi added to his list of professional qualifications by completing the ACCA examinations.

The following year, in 2007, Mr.Tebogo was admitted as an Associate Member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA). In August 2006 Baitshepi joined the University of Botswana and read for a degree in Master of Business Administration (MBA) which he completed in December 2008. And, in April 2010 Baitshepi completed the Associate level examinations of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT). This is a premier professional qualification with a focus on financial risk and treasury education. This achievement, therefore, entitles Baitshepi to refer to himself as an AMCT.

He has lectured on various papers such as: Introductory Accounting; Financial Records & Accounts, Drafting Financial Statements; Evaluating Costs and Revenues; Management Accounting- Performance Evaluation Management; Business Mathematics; Business Economics, Financial Analysis as well as Financial Management at the Botswana Accountancy College. He has also taught a course in Advanced Financial Accounting (to 4th year undergraduate degree students) at the University of Botswana in the semester of August 2007 to December 2007. Currently, Baitshepi is Head of Programmes at the Institute of Development Management (IDM); which is the most senior academic position within the institute.

And, as part of further continuing professional development, Baitshepi is studying towards a professional Doctoral degree in Finance with SMC University, Switzerland. Baitshepi's research interests are in the following areas: Presentation & Communication Skills; Performance Management & Evaluation; Management; Derivative Instruments & Markets; Commercial & Investment Banking; Project Finance, and Taxation & Fraud Examination.
